The Indiana County Technology Center has announced the recipient of the 5th annual Heidi Allison Character Award.

The recipient is Indiana High School Senior and ICTC Health Occupations Technology student Emily Teacher. She received the award based on the recommendation of her teacher and ICTC administration and after being interviewed by Heidi’s sister, daughter and husband. She along with the other finalists had to submit a brief essay asking them to reflect on how they would use the funds in the next chapter in their life. The award was presented at the 5th Annual Heidi and Tom Allison Memorial Golf Outing.
The award was established in Allison’s memory shortly after her death to recognize the significance and impact one person can make by simply demonstrating kindness and compassion, traits that she was known for when she was a Health Occupations Teacher at ICTC.
