The Penguins are back in action tonight against the high-powered Winnipeg Jets, hoping to grind out a win against a top Western Conference team. The Jets have the best record in hockey, at 16-3, with 32 points. The Penguins are in a three-way tie with the Blue Jackets and Flyers at the bottom of the Metro Division, with only 18 points.
Coach Mike Sullivan worked the team hard at practice yesterday, focusing on winning in the “battle zones”, where he says they’ve been weak this season.
The Jets beat the Penguins 6-3 on October 20th in Winnipeg. The game followed a familiar pattern for the Penguins, who had a 2-0 lead but fell behind 3-2 before tying it in the third period. They then gave up the final three goals to take the loss.
The game faces off shortly after 7 PM. We will join it in progress on U92 following IUP basketball. The Penguins play Utah at home tomorrow night.
