Homer-Center graduate Meegan Williams tore through the Presidents Athletic Conference in her first season playing college volleyball for Saint Vincent College, and yesterday she was named the conference’s Newcomer of the Year, and she also was named to the All-Conference First team.
Williams averaged 3.59 kills per set for the Bearcats with 140 kills in ten regular season matches. She was fourth in the PAC in kills per set and fourth in points per set, at 4.0. Defensively, she averaged 4.36 digs per set and she posted thirteen double-doubles, eight of them in conference matches.
Combining conference and non-conference stats, Williams had 290 kills for an average of 2.63 kills per set, a .139 hitting percentage, 35 service aces and 395 digs.
The outside hitter was PAC Newcomer of the Week five times.
