From IRMC
Indiana Regional Medical Center (IRMC) is proud to announce the upcoming opening of IRMC Mountains Behavioral Health, a state-of-the-art, 31,000-square-foot facility dedicated to providing inpatient behavioral health services. This new facility will offer 44 beds, expanding IRMC’s capacity to treat adolescents (ages 14-17), adults (ages 18+), and seniors (ages 55+).
In addition to offering advanced care for the mental and emotional health needs of Indiana County’s senior population, the expansion of services to include adolescents and adults will ensure that patients can receive treatment locally, minimizing the need for transportation outside the county.
“The growing need for behavioral health services in Indiana County is undeniable, and we are proud to expand our reach by offering specialized treatment for people of many ages,” said Steve Wolfe, IRMC President and CEO. “We’re eager to be able to provide local, compassionate, and expert care to individuals dealing with various mental health challenges. IRMC Mountains Behavioral Health will be a critical resource in our community.”
The facility is designed to treat patients experiencing increased anxiety, behavioral disturbances, depression with suicidal thoughts, hallucinations, delusional thoughts, schizophrenia, and other behavioral health conditions. Programming will be overseen by a board-certified psychiatrist, supported by nurses, social workers, and therapists, providing 24/7 care.
IRMC has partnered with Signet Health to manage the operations of the facility. Signet Health brings a wealth of experience and best-practice expertise in clinical programming, staff training and development, and the improvement of patient outcomes.
“We are very pleased to partner with IRMC,” said Joy Figarsky, Signet Health President and COO. “IRMC’s inpatient and outpatient services for patients of all ages are a very important treatment resource for the people in Indiana County and the surrounding areas. IRMC’s commitment to behavioral health clinical excellence coupled with Signet’s mission to advocate for the vulnerable, will make a difference in many lives in this community,” she added.
Located on the campus of Indiana Regional Medical Center, the facility, which broke ground on June 15, 2023, represents a $24 million investment by the hospital, community donors, and state. It is expected to create over one hundred jobs in Indiana County. The first patients are expected to be admitted this April.
