The IUP basketball teams host Seton Hill in a doubleheader tomorrow. Both Craig Carey’s women’s team and Joe Lombardi’s men won on Wednesday against UPJ.
It’s a big matchup in the women’s game. IUP is 13-2, 8-1 in the PSAC while Seton Hill is 15-1, 9-0 in the conference. One of the players on the Griffins’ roster is former Homer-Center standout Ayannah Elliott.
The IUP men are 8-8, and 4-5 in the PSAC. Seton Hill is 10-7 and 3-6 in the conference, and they are one of the few teams IUP will face that primarily plays zone defense, which will be a challenge for IUP’s inexperienced team.
Lombardi says they haven’t had a lot of time to practice against a zone.
Tomorrow’s action tips off at 1 o’clock. The airtime is 12:45 on 92.5 FM U92.
