The Penguins on Wednesday placed struggling netminder Tristan Jarry on waivers following another underwhelming season.
The two-time All-Star is 8-8-4 with a .886 save percentage this season. He’s allowed 3.31 goals per game, his second highest mark in his career. In his last five games, Jarry has allowed a total of 11 goals, including three last night to the Seattle Kraken.
Jarry was in his second-year of a five-year contract, which he signed during the 2023 offseason. General Manager Kyle Dubas told reporters that he does not regret extending Jarry, adding it would have looked worse on him if they prolonged the decision.
Dubas also said Jarry has “zero health issues.”
Rookie Joel Blomqvist will be recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to replace Jarry, who will be available to all teams until 2 o’clock Thursday.
