It was a very active Saturday for Indiana County’s first responders, who were dispatched for four brush fires and a vehicle accident. The action continued in the overnight hours with early Sunday calls for two more brush fires and a structure fire.
Iselin/West Lebanon and Coal Run/McIntyre firefighters were sent to a very large brush fire along Whiskey Run Road in Young Township at 1:30 and were joined soon after by fire crews from Tunnelton and Saltsburg. Clymer firefighters were summoned for a brush fire along Airport Road in Cherryhill Township at 6:22 PM. Elderton was dispatched for a brush fire along North Ridge Road in Armstrong Township at 7:05 PM and Iselin and Coal Run/McIntyre were sent to Old Route 56 in Young Township at 11:12 PM. This morning, those same two fire companies were called to Phillips Road in Young Township for yet another brush fire, and Commodore, Clymer, Marion Center, and the Hope Fire Company’s RIT Team out of Cambria County were dispatched for a residential structure fire along Stewart Road in Grant Township at 1:38 this morning.
Indiana firefighters responded to a call for a vehicle accident on Route 422 West in Armstrong Township at 7:04 last night.
