IUP will once again host educators from around the world as the university hosts the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching program for ninth year.
The university was provided with up to $260,000 by the program. This year’s group of 21 teachers come from 14 countries. For this semester, IUP is one of only two universities to host the program from the U.S. Department of State and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. As part of their education at IUP, the scholars will be guest teachers in the Indiana Area School District and in the Pittsburgh Public School System. They will then be able to take what they learned back to their colleagues in their home countries.
