Earlier today, Indiana County Commissioner Sherene Hess was sworn in as a new member of the State Agricultural Land Preservation Board.

The ceremonies were held at the Indiana County Courthouse, with President Judge Thomas Bianco presiding over the ceremony. Afterwards, Hess talked about what her role will be on the board.
Hess also said that farmland preservation has been important in Indiana County.
The appointment was made by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. Hess’ term on the board will run until March 29, 2027.
