Indiana County Judge Michael Clark last week granted the prosecution’s motion for a continuance of a hearing on Dwight Bowen’s petition for post-conviction collateral relief from his conviction and sentencing for murdering his cellmate at SCI Pine Grove on New Year’s Day 2019.
Bowen is already serving a life sentence at SCI Greene County for the murders of two toddlers, ages 3 and 1, in a firebombing of a Philadelphia row house in 2001. He was found guilty in December 2020 of strangling to death cellmate Luis Santiago and was sentenced to an additional 20 to 40 years. He is appealing that sentence.
Judge Clark set June 27th for an evidentiary hearing on Bowen’s most recent amended appeal.
