Local law enforcement agencies are bringing back an annual tradition geared towards connecting police officers and the residents they serve.
Officers from the Blairsville and Indiana Borough Police Departments are teaming up to host National Night Out in Indiana County with the main goal being strengthening police-community relationships and neighborhood comradery.
Blairsville Borough Police Chief Lou Sacco said that both departments are teaming up so residents can build relationships with officers both in their own and surrounding communities.

Both departments have special events lined up throughout the night. Indiana Borough Police officers will offer emergency vehicle tours and demonstrations, along with kids zones, and various discussions. Blairsville Borough Police will be offering Free Hands-only CPR instruction, registration for free smoke alarm installations, a DJ and bounce houses.
Food will also be served by the Blairsville Fire Department.
Indiana Borough Police will kick off celebrations at 5 p.m. at IRMC Park, while Blairsville Borough Police’s celebration will be at 6 p.m. at the Blairsville Diamond.
